1. About BuildMoris
BuildMoris is a Mauritius-first software marketplace and business-discovery service. It helps homeowners discover construction and home-service professionals, prepare project information, compare proposal details and record interaction-linked reviews.
BuildMoris is not a contractor, architect, engineer, quantity surveyor, lender, payment intermediary, escrow provider or construction guarantor. It does not supervise works or certify that work complies with plans, law, permits, safety standards or professional obligations.
2. Acceptance and eligibility
By creating an account or using a restricted service, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. You must provide accurate information, be legally able to enter into the relevant arrangement and use the platform only for lawful purposes. A person acting for a business must be authorised to bind or administer that business account.
3. Accounts and security
You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials, maintaining current contact details and promptly reporting suspected unauthorised access. BuildMoris may request reasonable evidence to confirm an identity, business relationship or claimed professional status. You must not share an account in a way that defeats individual access controls or audit records.
4. Professional profiles and verification
Professionals and companies are responsible for the accuracy, legality and currency of their profiles, credentials, service areas, portfolio materials and quotation information. A BuildMoris badge states only the specific evidence checked, the source used and the relevant check date. It is not an endorsement, warranty of workmanship or promise of future conduct.
BuildMoris may place a check into renewal-required, suspended or revoked status where evidence expires, becomes unreliable or is disputed. Paid plans and advertising cannot purchase a verification result.
5. Homeowner project requests
Homeowners must describe projects honestly and avoid uploading unnecessary identity information, financial data or documents they have no right to share. Project descriptions, automated prompts and comparison tools are informational aids. They do not replace advice, drawings, calculations, approvals or certification from a suitably registered professional or public authority.
6. Direct dealing, contracts and payments
Homeowners choose and deal with providers directly. Contracts, deposits, milestone payments, final payments, refunds, warranties, site access and project delivery remain solely between the homeowner and provider. BuildMoris does not receive, hold, route, release or guarantee construction payments.
Each party should perform its own checks and obtain independent professional or legal advice where appropriate before accepting a proposal or making a payment.
7. Subscriptions, trials and renewals
Professional features may be offered under monthly or annual plans, including a stated free-trial period. The plan page and checkout will show the price, billing frequency, included features, renewal date and cancellation route before purchase. Unless the checkout expressly says otherwise, a subscription continues for the selected term and renewal requires successful payment.
Access to paid tools may be limited after expiry or failed renewal. Amounts already due remain payable, subject to applicable Mauritius consumer and contract law and any written refund terms shown at purchase.
8. Reviews and user content
A “verified review” means BuildMoris can link the reviewer to a platform-originated interaction or project; it does not mean the opinion is objectively correct. Reviews must be based on genuine experience and must not be fabricated, incentivised without disclosure, coercive, defamatory, discriminatory or unlawful. Providers may respond through the available reply process.
You retain ownership of content you submit, while granting BuildMoris the limited permission needed to host, display, moderate and technically process it for the service. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions required to submit that content.
9. Advertising and ranking
Paid placements will be clearly labelled “Sponsored”. Advertising does not change verification status and must not be presented as an organic safety or quality signal. Organic discovery may consider service relevance, region, current verification scope, profile completeness, availability, responsiveness and review confidence.
10. Prohibited use
You must not impersonate another person, submit forged credentials, manipulate reviews, scrape restricted information, probe security, introduce malware, harass users, evade a suspension, misuse personal data or use the platform for unlawful, misleading or unsafe activity.
11. Availability and AI-assisted features
BuildMoris may change, suspend or maintain features and cannot promise uninterrupted availability. AI-assisted output is identified as such, remains editable and may be incomplete or incorrect. It must not be treated as engineering, architectural, legal, financial, safety or regulatory approval.
12. Complaints, suspension and appeals
BuildMoris may restrict content or accounts where reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate fraud, comply with law or enforce these terms. Where appropriate, affected users will receive a reason and an opportunity to correct information or appeal. Urgent public-safety concerns may justify temporary restriction while a review is underway.
13. Responsibility and applicable law
Each user remains responsible for their own decisions, communications, contracts and conduct. To the extent permitted by applicable law, BuildMoris is not responsible for the independent acts, omissions, quotations, payments or work of users or providers. Nothing in these terms excludes a right or responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.
These terms are governed by the laws of Mauritius. The parties should first attempt to resolve a complaint through BuildMoris support; unresolved disputes are subject to the competent courts of Mauritius unless applicable law requires another forum.
